PLAYER PROFILE
Player name: Pel
Age: 25+
Contact:
wehwalt
Characters currently in-game: n/a
Triggers/Fears/Squicks: I can't deal with transformation into bugs, being eaten alive by bugs, bugs in general are just not my idea of a fun time. Also please no pregnancy horror, holocaust-like scenarios (not just prison camps but also and especially holocaust-like experimentation & torture), or forced underage / statutory rape.
Character Motivation:
Fantomex is, at his core, a superhero who wants to save the world. But also he finds sex inherently hilarious, and if someone seriously said 'have sex to save the world', he'd agree out of morbid curiosity.
VOLUNTEER PROFILE
Warning: Fantomex was created by Grant Morrison. For those unfamiliar with the absolute terror that is Morrison, everything he does is really really often pointlessly over complicated, purposefully vague, and generally w...eird. I have tried to condense Fantomex down as much as humanly possible here, but if you got any questions, I'm happy to answer them, because this is the hell I've chosen to live in.
Name: He prefers to go by Fantomex, but he's adopted the 'human' name Jean-Philippe. When he was an experimental prototype, he was referred to as Charlie Cluster-7.
Age: Late 30's, for all meaningful purposes. Fantomex was 'grown' (he is a synthetically-made genetically-engineered human) in a place called The World, where time can be sped up or slowed down, and such while he was probably 'born' at a more recent date in the 'outside world', he's actually grown within The World and is thus completely an adult.
Physical Appearance: this. Yes, he is always wearing that outfit. Always.
Point in Timeline: Uncanny X-Force (2010) issue #27 before he fucking dies.
World Description: have fun.
History/Background: good luck. Stop here, because that's past where I'm taking him.
Noteworthy Positive Characteristics:
-Heroic, deep (deep deep) down.
-Capable of altruism.
-Self-questioning.
Noteworthy Negative Characteristics:
-Liar.
-General Lack of Empathy.
-General lack of respect for other people's autonomy or personhood (will make unilateral decisions for others because he believes he knows better).
-Flamboyant and self-centered.
Powers/Abilities: Fantomex has a lot of powers. I'm going to nerf the big ones, simply because they're ridiculous. If you would like them 'un-nerfed' and put in game regardless, lemme know!
-Backups. Fantomex as made as an ultimate killing machine, so he actually has backup organs and such that will 'kick in' when he's damaged in some way. This involves three brains, backup nervous systems (we'll get to that) and an increased healing factor.
- Increased heaing factor. While he doesn't heal as fast as, say, Wolverine, when his face is literally cut off, all he has to do to heal is slap it back on his skull and wrap some bandages around it and he's fine with zero scarring. Nifty!
If you wanna nerf that a little, lemme know; I'm good with it.
-Enhanced reflexes and strength. Fantomex is stronger, quicker, and more agile than a baseline human. Not, like, a ridiculous amount, but a little.
-Master thief. He's really good at stealing shit, breaking into things, and generally being... a... thief...
-No scent. He literally has no scent. It's just a thing. This actually has a weird downside; if a character has a really excellent sense of smell, they can find him by sniffing out where the absense of scent is. Comic book logic, man!
-Ability to read body language perfectly. He can read body language to tell if someone is lying or not. This comes especially in handy when faced with shape-shifters; he can tell if someone is shape-shifting from their body language.
-Dampening plates. This isn't a superpower so much as something Fantomex is never, ever without. Fantomex sees his mask as more of his face than the face underneath, so he always always always wears his mask. His mask involves ceramic dampening plates that make it impossible for psychics to penetrate his mind. He'll always be wearing his goddamn mask unless otherwise specified (or for plot purposes. I'm not against him losing the mask / dampening plates, but I feel like it's relevant to mention here).
-EVA. Fantomex's primary mutation is that his central nervous system is sentient. Her name is EVA, and when she emerges from him, she can transform into a fully functional space ship that only he can fly. But beyond that, EVA is a sentient being with a forthright and honest personality, largely to contrast Fantomex. She even has a human form!
Obviously, unless you as mods feel otherwise, I'm gonna nerf this one right off the bat. EVA being nerfed actually has the hilarious side effect of nerfing Fantomex's central nervous system. He has a backup, so he'll be mostly fine, but it also means he'll have to rely on that backup which just isn't as good. In some issues he mentions relying on the 'backup nervous system' gives him occasional difficulty seeing colors and feeling things. It's a fun aspect of canon that doesn't get dealt with in detail, so I'm down with it.
-Illusions. Fantomex's secondary mutation is the ability to create illusions. Specifically, he's able to literally trick reality into shifting to suit his purposes for a limited amount of time.
I'd like to half nerf this one. Say he can only make these illusions for about five minutes once a day, and it takes substantial energy on his part. Fantomex's illusions are used rarely in canon anyway, so this won't be a huge departure. However if you wanna fully nerf it, lemme know!
Character Fears: Fantomex's hard no is taking off his mask. Also he will not sleep with underage characters. But seriously, don
Personal Item: Fantomex just wants to bring his entire outfit, which I linked above. This includes his stupid trench coat, his stupid belt, his stupid boots, his stupid pants, his stupid shirt, and his mask + dampening plates. He'll be wearing them at the time because he is always wearing them.
VOLUNTEER SAMPLES
Network Sample: Please show an instance of you communicating via text, audio, or video so that we may be able to recognize your typing style and tone in the future.
Action Log Sample: Please show an instance of you communicating in-person with someone else. Preferably, a situation where you might have been reflecting or contemplating more deeply on whatever subject matter was at hand. This will give the Zenith Corporation a better understanding of you as a person.
